Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using vera.ink. By submitting a document for verification, creating an account, or using any part of the platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
01 / WHO WE ARE
vera.ink is operated by iWantIt (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in South Africa (registration number 2026/315901/07), trading as Imaginality. Our registered address is in Sandton, Gauteng, South Africa.
'We', 'us', and 'our' refer to iWantIt (Pty) Ltd. 'You' and 'your' refer to the individual or entity accessing or using the service. Contact: support@vera.ink
02 / WHAT THE SERVICE IS
vera.ink is a document verification platform. You upload a document and source material (legislation, contracts, specifications, or other reference content). Our AI system — VERA — analyses the document against those sources and returns a findings report identifying errors, contradictions, and non-compliance, with citations. Where findings exist, a corrected version of your document is available.
The service operates across nine verification modes: contract, grant, tender, compliance, academic, cv, price, custom, and code.
vera.ink is not a legal, financial, or professional advisory service. All outputs are AI-generated and must be independently reviewed by a qualified professional before being relied upon. We do not guarantee that all errors, contradictions, or compliance gaps will be identified. The service is a verification aid, not a substitute for professional review.
03 / ELIGIBILITY
You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter a binding agreement in your jurisdiction. By using the service, you confirm these conditions are met.
The service is available globally. You are responsible for ensuring your use complies with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction, including but not limited to consumer protection laws, data protection laws, and any other relevant legislation.
04 / ACCOUNTS AND ACCESS
Access to certain features requires providing an email address. You are responsible for all activity associated with your account. Notify us immediately at support@vera.ink if you believe your account has been compromised. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these Terms.
05 / SUBSCRIPTIONS AND CREDITS
The service operates on a verification credit system. Each verification consumes credits from your balance. Credit allocations per plan are displayed at vera.ink/pricing.
Free tier users receive 5 verifications at no charge. Paid subscribers receive monthly credit allocations as set out at vera.ink/pricing. Monthly credits reset on your billing date and do not roll over. Pay-as-you-go credits do not expire.
If your credit balance reaches zero, no further verifications may be initiated until credits are replenished. Credits are non-transferable and have no cash value. Credits are non-refundable except as set out in the Refund Policy.
06 / PRICING AND PAYMENT
Current pricing is displayed at vera.ink/pricing. All prices are quoted in USD and are exclusive of applicable taxes. Applicable taxes are calculated based on your billing address and collected by Dodo Payments. Subscription fees are charged at the start of each billing period.
Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, our payment processor and merchant of record. Dodo Payments handles billing, tax collection, receipts, and payment processing on our behalf. By subscribing, you also agree to Dodo Payments's applicable terms of service.
We reserve the right to change pricing at any time. Where we increase subscription fees for existing subscribers, we will provide at least 30 days advance notice by email before the new price takes effect. Your continued use after that date constitutes acceptance. If you do not accept new pricing, you may cancel before it applies.
07 / CANCELLATION
You may cancel your subscription at any time via your Dodo Payments billing portal or by emailing support@vera.ink. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain full access until that date.
We will not charge you for any period after your cancellation takes effect. If you experience difficulty cancelling, contact us at support@vera.ink and we will action the cancellation within 2 business days.
08 / REFUNDS
Our refund terms are set out in the Refund Policy at vera.ink/refund, incorporated into these Terms by reference. Statutory consumer rights that cannot be excluded by contract will apply in all cases.
09 / AI-GENERATED CONTENT — LIMITATIONS
vera.ink is powered by third-party AI infrastructure including models provided by Anthropic PBC (Claude) and Google LLC (Gemini). AI outputs are probabilistic. VERA may miss findings, generate incorrect citations, or produce inconsistent results across sessions.
You are solely responsible for reviewing all outputs before acting on them. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of any finding, citation, or corrected document produced by the service.
Where AI processing constitutes automated decision-making that significantly affects you, EU and UK users have the right under GDPR Article 22 and UK GDPR Article 22 to request human review. POPIA Section 71 provides equivalent rights for South African users. Contact support@vera.ink to exercise this right.
10 / ACCEPTABLE USE
You agree not to use the service to:
- Submit documents containing content that is illegal, defamatory, or infringes third-party intellectual property rights
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract underlying AI models, system prompts, or embeddings
- Circumvent any security, authentication, or usage-limiting mechanisms
- Upload documents for the purpose of extracting proprietary source content from our source pack infrastructure
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose
Violation may result in immediate account termination without refund.
11 / INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All platform designs, VERA branding, UI elements, and system architecture are the intellectual property of iWantIt (Pty) Ltd.
You retain ownership of all documents and source material you submit. By using the service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to process your inputs solely to provide the service to you. We make no claim of ownership over outputs. We do not use your documents or source material to train AI models.
12 / DATA AND PRIVACY
Your privacy is governed by our Privacy Policy at vera.ink/privacy, incorporated into these Terms by reference. We process personal data in accordance with POPIA, and where applicable, the EU GDPR, UK GDPR, and California CCPA/CPRA.
13 / DOCUMENT CONFIDENTIALITY
Documents and source material you submit are processed solely to deliver your verification results. We do not share your documents with third parties except as required to operate the service (AI processing providers operating under data processing agreements). We do not store document content longer than necessary to complete verification and maintain your results history. You may delete your verification history at any time.
14 / THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
The service uses third-party AI providers including Anthropic PBC and Google LLC for AI processing, Supabase Inc for database and storage infrastructure, Resend Inc for email delivery, and Dodo Payments for payment processing. Your use of the service is subject to those providers' applicable terms. Those providers operate as independent data processors under data processing agreements with us.
15 / LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, iWantIt (Pty) Ltd shall not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, revenue, data, business opportunity, or goodwill
- Damages arising from reliance on AI-generated verification outputs
- Service interruptions, outages, or unavailability
- Actions or omissions of third-party providers
Our total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the total fees paid by you in the three calendar months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
16 / INDEMNITY
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless iWantIt (Pty) Ltd from claims arising from your use of the service in breach of these Terms, your submitted content, or your violation of applicable law.
17 / AUTOMATIC RENEWAL
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current rate. We will send a renewal reminder at least 30 days before each renewal date. You may cancel before the renewal date to prevent the next charge.
For California subscribers, clear disclosure of automatic renewal terms is provided at the point of subscription in accordance with California Business and Professions Code Section 17600 et seq. Cancellation is available via your Dodo Payments billing portal or by emailing support@vera.ink.
18 / CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance. If you do not accept changes, you may cancel before they take effect.
19 / GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION
These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. For disputes in South Africa, the courts of South Africa shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
For EU consumers: you may bring proceedings in the courts of your EU member state of residence. The EU Online Dispute Resolution platform is available at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
For UK consumers: nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights or your right to bring proceedings in UK courts.
We will make good-faith efforts to resolve disputes informally before formal proceedings. Contact support@vera.ink in the first instance. For consumers residing in the EU or UK, mandatory consumer protection laws of your member state or country of residence shall apply and are not excluded by these Terms, overriding any conflicting provisions herein where they offer greater protection.
20 / GENERAL
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and iWantIt (Pty) Ltd in respect of the service.
